Abstract

This study was designed to examine changes in level of actualizing among counselor trainees at the Master's degree level as measured by the Personality Orientation Dimensions (POD), following the next-to-the-last course in Counseling and Student Personnel Services. Differences between pretest and posttest raw scores were significant for 4 of 13 POD scales. All changes were in the direction of hypothesized greater actualizing. It was concluded that the POD was sensitive to changes following the present counselor training program and that the changes suggest a greater adherence to actualizing concepts following such a program—an outcome that could be interpreted as reflecting some degree of support for its potential construct validity.
