Abstract
Objective To investigate the personality characteristics, family environment and influencing factors in patients with refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder. Methods According to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM-Ⅳ) criteria of obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD ) , 87 patients were enrolled, including 36 patients with refractory OCD and 51 patients with non-refractory OCD, who were evaluated by Yale-Brown obsessive-compulsive scale, Eysenck personality questionnaire and Family Environment Scale-Chinese Version. Results The psychoticism scores, family conflict scores and controllability scores were higher in the refractory OCD group than those in the non-refractory OCD group(P<0.05 or P<0.01), but the family cohesion scores were lower in the refractory OCD group than those in the non-refractory OCD group (P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that the family cohesion (OR=0.74) was a protective factor for the prognosis of OCD and controllability(OR=1.38) was a risk factor. Conclusions Refractory OCD patient's family environment is closely correlated with the prognosis. Key words: Family environment; Personality characteristics; Refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder; Non-refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder
