Abstract

Personality tends to stabilize during early adulthood. Stress exposure may alter personality developmental trajectory, especially if it occurs during a critical period (from late adolescent to early adulthood). These stress-induced personality changes may be mediated by neuronal changes. We prospectively examined the impact of real-life stress on the interaction between personality traits and neuronal responses to stress-related content.
