Abstract

The article presents a comparative political and psychological analysis of the of Russian governors divided into two categories: “newcomers” and “old-timers”. The article focuses the study of their personal characteristics within the following levels: cognitive, affective, behavioral. At each level, certain personal components were studied in relation to the transformation of the governorate’s institution, which then allowed to identify the main trends in its functioning in modern Russia. The research used political and psychological methods that allowed to create personal profiles of heads of Russian regions. The authors concluded that “newcomers” and “old-timers” have both common and special features.
