Abstract
In this paper, a personal identification method using force and position information is proposed. This paper assumes personal identification from signature. In this case, force and position information mean writing pressure and handwriting, respectively. To extract position and force information, a bilateral teleoperation system is used. Using the bilateral teleperation enables to measure both position and reaction force from environment at the same time. Moreover, this paper derives a coefficient of correlation between two signatures, which are written by two persons. Correlations are calculated from both position and force information in spatial sequence. After that, comprehensive correlation is derived by averaging two correlations of position and force. By deriving in spatial sequence, the proposed method enables to derive correct correlation even when a size of character is different. Finally, by comparing the coefficient of correlation, the personal identification is constructed. The validity of the proposed method is verified by experimental results.
