Abstract

Dr. Shan Liu: Today's patient is a 55-year-old woman who presented to the Emergency Department (ED) with a history of dyspnea on exertion, dry cough, and new pulmonary nodules. The patient was in her usual state of health until 3 weeks prior to her presentation to the ED. She reported dyspnea on exertion while performing moderate-intensity activities with associated heart palpitations and a dry cough for the past 3 weeks. One week after the onset of symptoms, she presented to urgent care, where she was diagnosed with possible asthma and an upper respiratory illness.
