Abstract

An experiment was carried out under the field condition at Agricultural Research Station, Sansoli (Gujarat) to study the residue and persistence of flonicamide in paddy (Oryza sativa) following two applications @ 75 and 150 g a.i. ha−1 along with control (water spray). The initial deposits on paddy were 0.41 and 0.45mg kg−1 at the standard and double doses, respectively. The levels declined and reached below determination level on 3rd d at either dose of application. The linear time v/s residue concentration plot showed that the dissipation pattern of flonicamid followed first order of kinetics with the monophasic mode. The half-life values were 0.77 and 0.74 d for standard and double doses, respectively. At harvest, residues of flonicamid in grain, husk, fodder and soil were below detectable level (BDL) (0.05 mg kg−1).
