Abstract

Plastic waste has caused increasingly complex problems from year to year in Indonesia. In an effort to reduce landfill waste plastic, the government intriduced a plastic bag paid policy in several cities. This article examine public perception on public willingness to pay on use of plactic bag. Quantitative research was conducted by survey and questionnaire in Jakarta and Bandung. Finding shows that people agree that plastic waste should be properly managed. Howerver, the number of people who agree and do not with the imposition of tariffs on plastic bags are relatively balanced. Also, the value of WTP society will pay a plastic bag is relatively higher than the price of plastic bags were ever tested, namely >Rp.1000,-. Based on regression analysis, this research found that the factors that affect society WTP value were the age and place of ordinary people doing monthly shopping.
