Abstract

Infrastructure development tends to cause new problems where people in residential areas become victims of evictions so that people need to have good adaptive capacity in order to survive from the impact of evictions. This study aims to analyze the effect of perceptions on the adaptive capacity of residents affected by the eviction of the Bogor-Sukabumi double track railway project. The study used survey method with questionnaire and in-depth interviews as data collection tools from 52 residents living in the eviction relocation area RT 04/RW 01 Bojongkerta Village, South Bogor District, Bogor City and some informants. Simple linear regression analysis shows that there is no significant influence of perceived eviction impact on adaptive capacity. However, the inverse direction of the relationship shows a tendency that poor perceptions of the eviction impact increase adaptive capacity of residents affected by the eviction of Bogor-Sukabumi double track railway project.
