Abstract
A peroxidase assay on leaf discs in citrus is proposed, using 3,3′,5,5′ tetramethyl benzidine as the H-donor and based on the chronometric measurement of the oxidation of ascorbic acid. The proposed method is rapid, it may be carried out under field conditions and is adequately reproducible and sensitive for diagnosing the nutritional status of iron.
