Abstract

The palynofloral contained in Bore-core DGW-6 from Bazargaon area near Nagpur is divisible into three palynozones. Palynozones 1 and 2 are characterized by Densipollenites magnicorpus and Crescentipollenites fuscus respectively are equivalent to the Raniganj palynofloral while palynozone -3 marked by Falcisporites stabilis, compares with the Panchet palynofloral. The sedimentary sequence between 236.15 to 526.30 m is equivalent to Raniganj Formation (Late Permian) and includes the coal-bearing horizon. The strata between 236.15 to 108.4 m (Lower Member) and sediments upto 108.40 m from top (Upper Member) belonging to the Kamthi Formation are considered to represent the Early Triassic (Scythian).
