Abstract

ABSTRACTThe feasibility of slip casting monosized ceramic powders has been investigated using colloidal (spherical) SiO2particles. Pertinent aspects of powder syntheses, particle characteristics, and slip preparation are discussed. Processing variables affecting thepermeabilityof the cast compact to fluid flow are discussed in relation to forming cast bodies with near ideal (ordered) particle packing.
