Abstract
A new low frequency technique which incorporates two measurements of the permeability, one under constant stress and the other under constant strain conditions, has been developed to measure very high magnetomechanical coupling factors. A magnetomechanical coupling factor ( k 33) of 0.95 has been measured for transverse field annealed smooth surfaced Metglas alloy 2605SC.
