Abstract

The idea of this paper was born during the discussion with my friend Andrey L. Fedorin of the 90th anniversary of our common teacher Dega V. Deopik. Noting the outstanding merits of our Teacher, who, in addition to dozens of monographs and hundreds of articles that were left as a scientific legacy, also left dozens of students, we came to the conclusion that many ideas expressed by Dega V. Deopik many years ago, need to be clarified and developed. This article is the embodiment of our reflections with Andrey L. Fedorin. The role of Andrey L. Fedorin in writing this article is not limited to its idea, since he put at my disposal the unpublished translations of the three chapters of the chronicle “Continuation of the main annals of the historical records of Dai Viet. Notes on the [Later] Lê Dynasty”, and he read the draft version of the article and made the most important remarks, for what I am extremely grateful to him.
