Abstract

The site of treatment failureincluded the abdomen alone in 48% of patients, and only4% developed distant metastatic site alone. Thus, there is astrong rationale for extensive locoregional treatmentcombining cytoreductive surgery and perioperative intra-peritoneal chemotherapy to treat a locoregional disease.Long-term survival has already been reported for perito-neal dissemination of various etiologies treated with thisaggressive but comprehensive combined therapeuticapproach.
