Abstract

The manifestation of non-Hodgkin´s lymphoma (NHL) in the oral cavity represents 2% of all cases. This study presents a case of a 55-year-old male patient who presented an asymptomatic fast-growing mass on the right side of the face. Intraoral examination revealed a well circumscribed mass with ulcerated areas in the hard palate. The radiological examination reveals a unilocular radiolucent lesion with a displacement of adjacent teeth. An incisional biopsy was performed. Histopathological examination revealed a neoplastic proliferation of small, round, blue cells with moderate pleomorphism. The immunohistochemical examination showed positivity for LCA, CD3, and CD45RO, and negativity for CD20, Granzyme, Perforine, TDT, CD10, BCL6, CD30, and CD56. The cell proliferation index through Ki-67 was high. Investigation for EBV via in situ hybridization was negative. According to these findings, the diagnosis of peripheral T-cell lymphoma, NOS was established. The cancer treatment was started, but the patient died after 4 months.
