Abstract

A 22-year-old Caucasian male was referred to evaluate an isolated lesion in the region of tooth 23. During anamnesis, a slow, progressive, and painless growth was perceived, not bleeding upon palpation and with no color change, with a one-year evolution. On clinical examination, a well-defined exophytic enlargement was noticed, with no color change in the distal papilla of tooth 23. Some gingival hyperplastic process was suspected. Imaging exams were requested, in which a possible fibro-osseous lesion was detected in the apical region of the same tooth. A biopsy was performed, targeting the intrasulcular region between teeth 22 and 25, from which a bone fragment and the entire soft tissue lesion were collected. The material was sent for histopathological analysis, and the report was conclusive for peripheral odontogenic fibroma over vital bone tissue. The patient is currently under follow-up, with no clinical signs of recurrence. A 22-year-old Caucasian male was referred to evaluate an isolated lesion in the region of tooth 23.
