Abstract

Peripheral odontogenic tumor (POdF) is one of the rare forms of benign gingival enlargements. Odontogenic fibroma occurs as central or as peripheral lesion. WHO classification presents detailed explanation of central odontogenic fibroma and briefly states that peripheral odontogenic fibroma is extra-osseous counter part of central odontogenic fibroma. Thus, most of the POdF is described in literature presented as single, focal swellings. Hence POdF may be mistaken for more common exophytic gingival lesions. In this article we report a rare case of POdF of the maxilla with clinical, radiological and histological features.
