Abstract
Peripheral collisions for 20Ne+20Ne system at 25 MeV/A were analysed in detail by means of quantum molecular dynamics model. Its characteristics, co-existences and competitions between deep inelastic collision and fragmentation were discussed, the mechanism giving rise to intermediate mass fragments were also explored.
