Abstract

Postoperative stroke is a rare but major complication after surgery, incidence depend upon type and complexity of the surgery. The etio pathogenesis of perioperative stroke is multifactorial, although the most often proposed mechanism is an embolus originating from the heart or great vessels. Cerebral Infarct caused by intracranial artery thrombosis is an extremely rare complication of transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. A unique case of an unexpected hemodynamic massive left ICA territory infarct with relevant literature is described here.
