Abstract

Objective To explore the perioperative nursing care method for patients with cataract surgery aided by femtosecond laser. Methods We recruited 64 patients (78 eyes) with phacoemulsification for cataract aided by femtosecond laser in Ophthalmologic Center of Beijing Tongren Hospital of Capital Medical University from June 2014 to December 2015. And then, systemic perioperative nursing care was provided for them. Finally, we observed the average time of phacoemulsification during operation, postoperative vision, central corneal thickness, corneal astigmatism and occurrence of postoperative complications. Results Among the 64 patients, the average time of of phacoemulsification during operation was (9.29±34) s; there were 26 eyes (33.33%) with visual acuity over or equal to 1.0, 39 eyes (50%) with visual acuity between 0.5 and 0.9, 13 eyes (16.67%) with visual acuity less than equal to 0.5; the central corneal thickness of ocular was (551±49) μm and the corneal astigmatism was (0.78±0.35) D 7 days after operation; there was no postoperative complication including ocular infection after operation. Conclusions Phacoemulsification aided by femtosecond laser can improve the visual function of patients with cataract and enhance the clinical effects. The systemic perioperative nursing care is an important guarantee for a successful operation. Key words: Nursing; Cataract; Femtosecond laser; Perioperative period
