Abstract

Patients with atrial fibrillation on warfarin therapy and who have warfarin therapy interrupted for an elective operation or other elective or invasive procedures do just as well without bridging anticoagulation as they do when they have bridging anticoagulation with respect to prevention of thromboembolism and they have decreased risk of major bleeding.
