Abstract
Average costs for periodicals in selected Library of Congress classification categories at a university library are shown for periodicals purchased from two major subscription agents. Data is compared with similar data from two universities derived from F. W. Faxon, Inc. files and with “weighted averages” from the Faxon files. The study represents a university library collection with primary emphasis in the agricultural and life sciences, technology, design-architecture, textiles and forestry.
