Abstract

AbstractPeriodic steady state solutions are generated by the Harmonic Balance/Fast Fourier Transform method from the nonlinear differential equation of an Euler‐Bernoulli beam rod, constant speed crank, slider crank mechanism. Stability and response of those solutions are examined when piston mass and crank length are varied. Jump, period doubling bifurcations, and amplified response were found.
