Wehlau, A. ; Conville, J. ; Hogg, H. S. Abstract Observations of the globular cluster M14 extending from 1932 to 1974 have been used to study the rate of period change for 32 of the most regular and best observed RR Lyrae variables. While the time span of only 42 years lends some uncertainty to the results, there does not appear to be a strong predominance of variables with increasing period such as has been found by others for the Oosterhoff type II clusters omega Centauri and M15. The distribution of period changes appears somewhat similar to that found for the other Oosterhoff type I clusters M3 and M5.
