Abstract
ABSTRACTWe report multiperiodic pulsation characteristics of the δ Scuti variable HD 6859. The 57 hr light curves over eight nights confirm the δ Scuti oscillation characteristics of HD 6859. Amplitude spectra indicate multiperiodic pulsation behavior, and two main pulsation frequencies, f1 = 7.4963 and f2 = 8.7780 cycles day−1, have been confidently identified. Three other frequencies, f3 = 5.8427, f4 = 10.5164, and f5 = 8.3786 cycles day−1, were suggested as having a high possibility of being candidates. The explanation of a complicated frequency distribution requires a combination of both radial and nonradial modes. A preliminary comparison with models suggests that the observed modes would lie in the range of modes from type H to p4.
