Abstract

Papua New Guinea (PNG) remains categorised as a Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) endemic country [1]. Pericardiocentesis is recommended for patients with pericardial effusion in whom MTB is suspected, along with those with indications for therapeutics drainage [2]. This study aimed to report the incidence of TB pericardial effusion on GeneXpert [3] in patients living in Port Moresby.
