Abstract

The performance of the tandem component filter for recognizing one object from a set of objects is studied and compared with the performance of the classical matched spatial filter and the phase-only matched filter. The filter is found to have a performance comparable to the classical matched filter, with the advantage of a much higher light efficiency.
