Abstract
There is a huge development in product quality with the advancement in manufacturing processes. Subtractive and additive manufacturing of smart alloys have played a vital role in this field. The recent development of an additive manufacturing has helped in the development of any range of products using any materials, especially shape memory alloy (SMA). It is essential to study the quality products to ensure the usefulness of the developed products. Subtractive manufacturing is used to shape the final products. The manufacturing processes can shape any range of materials. The studies on smart materials and smart alloys are very limited. So, it is essential to explore the possibility and difficulties during fabrication of smart alloys. The present study provides an introductory overview on usefulness of subtractive and additive manufacturing processes during fabrication of smart alloys. The study is followed by future scope of the study.
