Abstract

Tractive performance of a rubber-tired skidder operating on soft organic soil in the Coastal Plain region of North Carolina was determined for three tire sizes inflated at each of three inflation pressures (69, 103, and 172 kPa). The tractive pull/dynamic load ratio values were low (= 0.32) for all tire size/inflation pressure combinations and, when plotted against the travel reduction, appeared to be dependent on the tire inflation pressure.
