Abstract

In [1], we have presented the performance-related expressions for L-selection combining (SC) receiver over Hoyt fading channels, in the form of infinite series. In this presentation, these expressions are simplified using Yacoub’s integral [2], a general solution to which is recently published [3]. The obtained expressions are compact containing Yacoub’s integral and hence are easily computable. Furthermore, the work in [1] is extended to non-identical branch fading parameter case in the remaining of the paper. Expressions for the probability density function of the SC output signal-to-noise ratio and average bit error rate are derived which are also compact and computationally efficient. Both numerical and computer simulation results are plotted and the effect of fading parameters on the performance is studied.
