Abstract
In this paper, performance of 5G Filter Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) system that reduces the problems in 4G (OFDM) system, which uses a banks of filter instead of using the Cyclic Prefix (CPs). FBMC is a form of multicarrier modulation technique that is highly used for high date rate cellular and wireless systems. The Prototype filter response called (Physical layer for Dynamic Spectrum Access and cognitive radio -PHYDYAS), used in 5G (FBMC) was implemented using the MATLAB and Python Simulation tools. The Performance of Bit Error Rate (BER) versus Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is implemented in Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) modulation technique. The comparison of sub channel Inter Carrier Interference (ICI) for OFDM and FBMC is also computed. ICI is reduced significantly for FBMC when compared to OFDM. This paper shows BER is reduced in FBMC. The PAPR is greatly reduced from the maximum power of Power Spectral Density (PSD) in FBMC compared to OFDM.
