Abstract

Contribution of Ultra Wide Bandwidth (UWB) antennas to the advancements of modern communication systems is noticeable. The substantial and significant characteristics of the patch antenna are often utilized along with multi-resonant structures to realize broadband features. In this paper, one such attempt has been made to accomplish the desired characteristics. The resultant geometry aided with simple Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) feed technique has reported excellent UWB response. The arc shaped projection is used with sharp grove to enhance the current distribution thereby assuming excellent broad banding from 3 GHz to 10.1 GHz. The simulated geometry in CST is validated using the fabricated prototype.
