Abstract

The transmission of C-MAC (multiplexed analog components) data services to VSATs (very small aperture terminals) is considered. The impairments associated with VSATs, such as the effects of adjacent satellite interference and the low gain of the VSAT antenna, are taken into account. Time-domain simulation was used to evaluate the performance of data services when the interference comes from a finite number of sources. The received bit error rate then determines the choice of coding for typical data services. The results of the simulation are presented.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
