Abstract

ABSTRACT AN air heating focusing solar collector with a para-bolic trough reflector and linear receiver was con-structed and tested. The results are presented in a modified form of the Hottel-Whillier-Bliss generalized performance equation by plotting efficiency versus AT/1. The test unit, which has some imperfections in construct-ing the receiver core, operated at an efficiency of 48 to 57 percent when heating ambient air depending on flow rate.
