Abstract

In this paper, a mathematical model of a shallow solar pond is developed where a refrigerant is used as a working fluid. The model is numerically simulated to study the system performance. Freon-11 (b.p. 23.8°C) and Freon-113 (b.p. 47.6°C) are used as working fluids for the winter and summer conditions of Delhi. The forward time step marching finite difference technique is used for solving the equations.
