Abstract

The symbol error rates (SERs) for a 256-QAM system in the presence of sinusoidal co-channel interference, noise and non-perfect carrier recovery are determined. Ii is shown lhai the combined effect is a significant increase in SERs, and lhe SERs are shown as a function of carrier-phase jitter variance (σ2 ψ) and signal-to-noise ratio, parametrized by a carrier-to-inierference raiio.
