Abstract

The government of Aceh targets the use of 25.5% of renewable energy in 2025, one of which is the utilization of solar energy in Dayahs (an institution that manages religious learning and education). Dayah Misbahul Ulum, located in the city of Lhokseumawe, uses a 25 kWp rooftop solar PV. Solar PV is new to Dayah, and an assessment needs to find out the rooftop solar PV performance. The steps taken included to identify all devices, system configurations, electrical load profiles. The whole Solar PV system has a model in PVSyst software by ignoring the shading factor. Performance Analysis obtained Final Yield (YF) of 3.86 kWh/kWp/day, Yield Reference (YR) of 4.92 kWh/kWp/day, and Performance Ratio (PR) of 0.784. The optimum energy produced was 34,470 kWh/year or 39% difference with rooftop solar PV's real energy production. The system's most significant energy losses were PV losses due to temperature and inverter losses, 11%, and 7%. The optimal slope angle in the PV Array is 5° and can increase energy production by 6.66% per year from existing energy production.
