Abstract

DC-DC converters play a vital role in the conditioning of power in the Renewable energy integrated standalone system. The DC-DC converters are of different topologies among them one of the efficient topologies in terms of power conversion is the Luo converters. The Luo converter with Super-Lift improves power efficiency by boosting the voltage in geometric progression. A Positive Output (P/O) Super-Lift Luo converter is compared with the performance of the conventional Boost converter wherein the converter minimizes the current ripples. The output of the standalone system can be improved by backing the Photo-Voltaic system with a Maximum Power Point Controller. The MPPT controller makes use of the traditional Perturb and Observe algorithm for harnessing maximum power from the PV panels.
