Abstract

A wide-slot antenna with modified ground and a fork-like tuning stub is proposed in this paper. Near the feed line two rectangular parasitic stubs are added. Two semicircular slots in the lower edge of the ground plane are introduced along with the dual split ring resonator (SRR) which is displaced from the centre for bandwidth enhancement. The simulated results of the proposed antenna demonstrate that the impedance bandwidth (−10 dB) is 158% ranging from 2.28–18.9 GHz. The size of the proposed antenna is 37∗37∗0.8 mm3 which is less than earlier reported work.
