Abstract

In this paper, a plasmonic tapered twin-core fiber optical tweezers is proposed. Numerical simulations are carried out to fully investigate its performance. Strong resonance behavior is observed at λ = 14.7 µm. It is shown that in the proposed structure, high values of trapping force can be achieved due to intrinsic field enhancement of plasmonic effect. Moreover, it is observed that our proposed structure can trap and induce force to the particles as small as 0.01 µm radius size.
