Abstract

IEEE 802.15.4 Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) supports low-power and lossy network (LLN) formation through its features. TSCH is characterized in that it requires a specific scheduler in its operation. ALICE scheduler have been verified for their reliability and robustness in various scenarios. However, it is not verified whether their performance will be maintained even with the increasing network size with the development of the IoT network. Therefore, this paper explores how the network size can affect the performance of ALICE scheduler. As a result of the experiment, the packet delivery ratio (PDR) decreased by 34.2% under the same traffic load as the network size increased. We also reveal that the queue loss problem is related to the configuration of the slotframe length.
