Abstract
In practical digital communication systems, the equalizer in the receiver is generally used to compensate for the distortion induced from the communication channels. We construct a channel estimation model for a linear equalizer and evaluate the performance of the equalizer with the ZF (zero-forcing) and LMS (least mean square) algorithm using a specified channel characteristic. From the simulation results, both the ZF and LMS algorithm with 11 taps compensate perfectly the channel-induced distortion known as intersymbol interference.
