Abstract

This paper studies and analyzes the performance of space-time coding (STC) with channel-matched Viterbi decoding in a frequency-selective multipath fading channel. Under the assumption that the perfect channel information is available to the receiver, we prove that space-time codes designed for flat fading channels can achieve additional diversity in the frequency selective multipath fading channel. Using computer simulation, the analysis results are confirmed.
