Abstract

There are many environmental factors taking ef- fects on the communication performance of routing protocols. However, in high-density urban areas, one of the important factors is vehicle-node density. This paper proposes the vehicle- node density parameter to improve the performance of AODV routing protocol and OLSR routing protocol under two typical mobile models in VANET. The performance of routing protocols is evaluated through OMNET++ platform.Simulation results indicate the improvement of performance of routing protocols according to increase the node density around the receiver properly and show that the adaptability of reactive routing protocol and proactive routing protocol with the vehicle-node density near the receiver is vary from different mobility models.
