Abstract

We simulate and analyze the effects of atmospheric turbulence on fractional orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexed free-space optical (FSO) communication system. Assisted by variable low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, we get a significant coding gain of more than 10 dB compared to an uncoded system.
