Abstract

Blockchain applications are increasing steadily in real-world applications, and in recent times, there has been a notable increase for permissioned blockchain applications. Hyperledger Fabric (HLF) is one of the Linux Foundation’s permissioned blockchains. Many researchers developed blockchain-based systems on HLF, but the main concern for such systems is performance analysis. The performance analysis of the HLF based systems is essential for accessing their applicability and usefulness. In this paper, we conducted an overview of the various parameter taken into account while implementing the blockchain system on HLF, followed by the study of various metrics taken by the various researchers to analyze the performance of the blockchain system developed on HLF. Caliper has been identified as a prominent performance analysis tool for evaluating the performance of blockchain implementations. Finally, we analyze the performance of the blockchain system in terms of Transaction throughput, latency, success rate and resource consumption using the hyperledger caliper benchmarking tool.
