Abstract

A multifunctional compensator based on a three-phase bidirectional AC/DC converter for the AC power system with low-frequency pulsed load is evaluated in this paper. Both high-frequency harmonics and low-frequency pulsed power are compensated by the compensator. The control method and modulation strategy are analyzed in detail, as well as the design consideration of the energy storage capacitor. In the end, feasibility and performance of this multifunctional compensator are evaluated by the simulation and experimental results.
