Abstract

The thermoelectric generator (TEG) is made of two dissimilar materials whose one material has negative temperature coefficient and rest one has positive temperature coefficient. TEG produces electrical energy from thermal energy base on Peltier-Seebeck effect. In this paper, the TEC1-12706 TEG modules used to construct a module array for solar thermoelectric generator (STEG) system. After that the performance of STEG was evaluate under sunshine over a day. During performance evaluation, the hotter surface of the STEG array was put under sunshine with the attachment of solar irradiance absorber plate (pitch painted aluminium sheet) and cold surface connected with heat sink which was keep in mud made vessel water. The STEG system is showing maximum open circuit voltage, short circuit current at the temperature difference between the junctions 15°C and 9°C respectively.
