Abstract

PVA/PAMPS proton conducting composites have been presented for low temperature DMFCs using high molecular weight PVA (HMw- PVA). By using high molecular weight PVA as polymer matrices, the membrane micro-phase structure is improved and this brings about a performance enhancement of the membrane such as low water uptake, high proton conductivity, low methanol permeability and excellent longevity towards the Fenton's reagent.
